Rowan University MECHANICAL ENGINEERING Faculty Position

The Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME) at Rowan University offers an innovative and student-centered program, incorporating leading-edge educational methods that blend theory with engineering practice. The program provides students with a strong foundation in mechanical engineering science and design, and emphasizes the development of effective communication, teaming skills, and professional responsibility, in preparation for a career in a diverse global workforce.

Throughout the curriculum, students are exposed to mechanical engineering methods using hands-on state-of-the-art experiments, modern computational tools, and problem synthesis and solution approaches. The Mechanical Engineering Program is committed to graduating students that have technical excellence, a commitment to professional responsibility, and lifelong learning skills.

The Program’s Educational Objectives (PEOs) are:

  1. ME graduates are well-rounded engineers who can apply knowledge and skills in their careers.
  2. ME graduates will consider the context and broader impacts of engineering solutions in professional practice.
  3. ME graduates will be able to effectively communicate to a broad spectrum of audiences and have the teamwork and leadership skills to excel professionally.
  4. ME graduates will develop the flexibility to adapt to changing technology and recognize the need for continuous improvement, self-study or further education.

The ME program has received high recognition by employers and academic peers. The U.S. News & World Report (2019 edition) has Mechanical Engineering at Rowan University ranked for the 13th place in its Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs (master's or bachelor's) category.
