ECE Launches Programs

ECE Department launches Ph.D. in ECE program as well as the 4+1 BS/MS in ECE program

The ECE Department was the first to develop and launch a Ph.D. program in 2015 at Rowan, designed initially to be a Ph.D. in Engineering with Specialization in ECE. Over the years, as this program grew, so did the necessity for a stand-alone program. Therefore, the program has been redesigned, and – with state approval recently received – it is now Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Qualified applicants are welcome to apply. All Ph.D. students in the ECE program are funded. For funding opportunities, prospective students are first encouraged to contact an ECE faculty whose research area interests them most. Additional information can be found on our Ph.D. Program in ECE page.

4+1 BS / MS Program

The ECE Department has just launched the 4+1 BS/MS Combined Advanced Degree Program, allowing students to obtain their M.S. in ECE in one year (or less) upon completing the B.S. in ECE program. This unique program allows students to take up to 4 graduate level courses while in the B.S. program at undergraduate tuition rates. All four courses – taken at undergraduate tuition rate – count towards the (ten required) M.S. degree program. In addition, two of these four courses can also be double counted towards both the B.S. and the M.S. degree programs. Once the B.S. program is completed – along with the four graduate courses – students need only to take six more graduate courses to complete their M.S. degree. These six courses can be completed in as little as two semesters (7-8 months). Additional information can be found on our 4+1 BS/MS Combined Advanced Degree Program in ECE page.
