Laptop Requirement

New for the Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering starting in the fall of 2017, all incoming students will be required to bring a laptop to campus.  The College recommends the Lenovo ThinkPad T470s, with the following minimum specifications:

Processor:  Intel Core i7-7600U Processor (4MB Cache, up to 3.90GHz)
Hard Drive:  512 GB Solid State Drive, PCIe-NVMe OPAL2.0
Graphics:  Intel HD Graphics 620
Warranty:  Think 3 Year Depot or Carry-in
Memory:  16GB DDR4-2133 8GB Onboard +8GB (1 SoDIMM)
Operating System:  Windows 10 Home 64
Battery:  3 Cell Li-Ion Battery 23.5WH Front

It is highly recommended that a laptop be purchased with the recommended configuration provided by Lenovo from the following site: www.lenovo.com/rowanengineering. You must create an account using your Rowan email address to register, and to subsequently access the site. Once in the site, click on Products and then Laptops for the preconfigured laptop. The University now provides students with Microsoft Office through Office 365, more information can be obtained here: https://irt.rowan.edu/display/IRT/Office+365. Note: All engineering applications will run on Windows-based laptops but some may not have been designed to run on Apple products. However, owners of Apple products can access the same software available for Windows users via RowanCloud.
