Edelman CCCA Programs

Rowan University's Edelman College of Communication & Creative Arts houses six departments with 13 undergraduate majors, three Master of Arts programs, and substantial general education offerings. Below, find our Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degrees.

Advertising

The BA in Advertising program combines a solid theoretical background and real-world experience in advertising practice. Our students compete in national venues showcasing their skills, ambition, and accomplishments, and our alumni employ their knowledge and passion all over the world. 

Applied Professional Communication

The Bachelor of Arts in Applied Professional Communication is part of the 3+1 program at Rowan College of Burlington County. Develop your technical and digital skills as well as communication skills for many careers related to media, sales, marketing, public relations, human resources, project management and corporate communication.

Art

The BA in Art is a liberal arts degree program for students who desire a broad academically-oriented education with an emphasis in art, art education or general fine arts. The BA in Art program is an option for students who want to double major or minor in other disciplines pertinent to career goals that could span art conservation, art therapy, not-for-profit arts administration and entrepreneurial businesses.

Studio Art (BFA)

The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art is a professional, studio-intensive degree program for students who wish to become illustrators, designers or fine artists and want to develop their work to a professional level.

Art Education

Art Education at Rowan University provides students with the requisite knowledge, skills and dispositions to be an art educator in the public schools. Students take a sequence of art studio, art history, art education and education courses that lead to a New Jersey instructional certificate as a Visual Art Teacher for grades K-12.

Biomedical Art & Visualization (BFA)

The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Biomedical Art & Visualization major combines visual art, science, design and digital media technologies. It is the only major in the State of New Jersey and one of three NASAD accredited undergraduate majors in the United States. The major offers a specialized degree, where students learn Illustration, 3D modeling, animation, game design and information design to communicate science and medical content. 

Communication Studies

Students in the BA in Communication Studies program focus on the rich complexity of our lived experiences, which are created by and represented through communication. The curriculum is versatile, allowing students to plan according to their unique skill sets and goals. Recognizing that every job is a communication job, this versatility is well suited for today’s challenging and evolving economy.  

Health & Science Communication

The Bachelor of Arts in Health and Science Communication (HSC) prepares students for cutting-edge, high impact work in communication sectors that focus on health and medicine, public understanding of science, and the environment.

Journalism

The BA in Journalism prepares students to be successful news and media professionals. Students explore journalism history, ethics and law. They hone their craft of reporting and writing. They gain the latest digital storytelling techniques and skills. Students cover campus news and events and work as freelancers and interns for local news organizations in the southern New Jersey and Philadelphia area.

Public Relations

The BA in Public Relations program holds the Certified Educator in Public Relations status from the Public Relations Society of America and combines a solid theoretical background and real-world experience in public relations practice. Our students compete in national venues showcasing their skills, ambition, and accomplishments, and our alumni employ their knowledge and passion all over the world. 

Radio, Television & Film

Students in the BA Radio, Television & Film program study a curriculum that provides integrated training in the art and business of the electronic media. Studies can be concentrated in production, film and television studies, and broadcast/video systems.

Sports Communication & Media

The BA in Sports Communication and Media (Sports CAM) is designed for students interested in the coverage, promotion, broadcasting and language of contemporary sport. 

Writing Arts

Students in the Bachelor of Arts Writing Arts program will grow and develop as writers within a variety of writing genres, with opportunities to concentrate in creative writing, technical and professional writing, and publishing.
