Biography

Nedd Johnson received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Education/History from Glassboro State College, his Masters of Arts degrees in Student Personnel/Guidance and School Administration from Rowan College, and recently received his doctorate in Educational Leadership from Rowan University in December 2016. Dr. Johnson began his educational career in 1983 as a Social Studies teacher at his alma mater, Schalick High School. Nedd has worked for the Pittsgrove Township, Millville and Vineland Public School Districts as a teacher, coach, counselor, Guidance Director, Guidance Supervisor, Assistant Principal and Principal. Nedd was appointed to the position of Assistant Superintendent for the Bridgeton Public School District in May 2011 and retired in July 2016. 

He started working as an adjunct Field Supervisor for teacher candidates at Rowan University in January 2017 and was recently hired to the position of ¾ Instructor and Teacher Recruiter for the College of Education. In June 2017, Dr. Johnson was nominated by Governor Christie and confirmed by the New Jersey State Senate to serve on the New Jersey State Board of Education. His research interests include Professional Development Schools, equity in urban education, teacher leadership in urban education settings, and the minority male student and teacher experiences in K-12 classrooms. In addition, he teaches undergraduate courses, supervises clinical practice candidates and works directly with the Project IMPACT students.
