Carl Lunk Fellowship in Industrial & Applied Physics

Carl Lunk was the long-time instrument coordinator and a valued member of the experimental group in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at Rowan University. Carl’s personality was warm and friendly, and his creativity and problem-solving abilities were well known. His contributions extended across the university as he selflessly provided insight and help to students and colleagues from all programs across campus.

One of Carl’s many contributions was that every year mentored of a student researcher on a project in applied physics. The Carl Lunk Fellowship in Industrial and Applied Physics was established in honor of that tradition and is awarded annually to an undergraduate with a strong interest in applied physics research.

The plaque has been graciously provided by a group of Carl’s fellow retirees—Jim Canna, Keith Johnson, Steve Simmerman, and Wellington “Woody” Woods.
