Tom Osler is professor of mathematics at Rowan University. He received his Ph. D. from the Courant Institute at New York University in 1970 and is the author of 151 mathematical papers. In addition to teaching university mathematics for the past 57 years, Tom has had a passion for long distance running. He has been competing for the past 63 consecutive years. His final race was in January 2017. He now swims nearly every day.  Included in his over 2600 races are wins in three national championships in the late sixties at distances from 25 kilometers to 50 miles. Best running times are: 6 Miles track 30:30 in 1965 and 1967; 10 Miles track 52:40 in 1966; Marathon 2:29:02 at Boston (18th) in 1967; 50 Miles track 5:49:14 in 1975; 100 Miles track in 16:11:15 in 1978. He is the author of two running books and a member of the Road Runners Club of America Hall of Fame.

2009: The Mathematical Association of America, New Jersey Section, Distinguished Teacher of Mathematics Award.

Oslerfest: April 16-17, 2010 a Mathematical Conference at Rowan University.

George Andrewsfrom Penn State University is President of the American Mathematical Society, a member of the National Academy of Sciences and a recognized expert in number theory.

Richard Askey, Professor Emeritus from the University of Wisconsin is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and recognized the world over for his work in special functions.

Bruce Berndtfrom the University of Illinois is the world�s leading exponent of the works of the great Indian mathematician Ramanujan. He and his research students have clarified the Ramanujan�s obscure notebooks in numerous books and publications.
