Polyurethane is a workhorse chemical product that helps drive the machinery of the world’s economy. This talk will provide an general overview of COIM and the urethane industry but focusing on the cast urethane market. Specifically, we will discuss how the chemistry of various urethane systems are used to increase the service life of many of end use cast urethane markets. We will explore the comparisons of urethane to other materials such as rubber and plastic system. We will explore the synthesis of urethane prepolymers and the processing of these materials into useful industrial articles. Discussions will continue on the variety of urethane chemical systems and how the chemistry is used to design new urethane articles.
