Not sure you want to start with private lessons? We offer various classes and group options for beginners, intermediate, and advanced musicians.

  • There is no registration fee when taking a class or attending an event.
  • Rowan Prep reserves the right to cancel any classes and events that do not meet minimum enrollment requirements.

Brass Day 2016


Group Guitar for Beginners

  • Faculty: Caroline Kubach, Rowan Prep guitar faculty
  • Tuesdays, (12 week semester)
  • Cost: $240
  • Not offered Fall 2017

This class is designed for younger beginners interested in learning the guitar in a supportive group setting. With Ms. Kubach at the helm, students will learn how to play the instrument while learning about the basic setup, tuning and maintenance of the guitar. Parents are encouraged to bring a guitar and learn alongside their child (at no extra cost)!

Group Piano for Beginners (ages 5-7)

  • Faculty: Tess Nielsen, Rowan Prep piano faculty
  • Mondays, 3:45-4:30 (8 weeks)
  • Cost: $160
  • Not offered Fall 2017

Designed to work with a child's natural creativity and energy, the course goal is to give beginning piano students an overview of the first steps in learning the instrument. Dr. Nielsen incorporates a variety of musical activities including singing, listening, and playing the piano to introduce music concepts and notation.

Atlantic Brass Band's Annual Youth Brass Day

  • Faculty: Bryan Appleby-Wineberg & The Atlantic Brass Band
  • January 2018 (exact date TBA)
  • Free concert at 5:00 for friends and family, Wilson 156
  • Cost: $20

Join Dr. Appleby-Wineberg and members of The Atlantic Brass Band for a Sunday afternoon of rehearsals, master classes and sectionals. Open to all brass players in middle and high school. A pizza party and concert will be the finale of the afternoon!

This is the perfect way to try playing in a brass band before committing to our Atlantic Youth Brass Band in spring semester.
