Private Lesson Policies

Private Lesson Registration, Payment, Refund, & Absence Policies

Fall 2017, Spring 2018, & Summer 2018

Please read carefully before registering. Your signature on the registration form agrees to these policies. Questions or concerns should be expressed to the Rowan Prep Director prior to the start of lessons.

Registration Procedures

  • Upon filling out a registration form, all students will be registered for the full semester (15 lessons in fall and spring, fewer in summer).
    • Students beginning private lessons after the first week of the semester will have their tuition pro-rated.
  • A registration fee is assessed to each student taking private lessons.
    • $15/semester (Waived if semester tuition is paid in full at or before first lesson.)
    • $5/summer (Waived for students registered for the previous semester and/or if summer is paid in full at or before first lesson.)
  • Choose your payment plan.
    • Full Tuition or Multiple Installments (see Payment Policies below).
  • Tuition payment (which includes your deposit) and registration fee, are due upon registration.
    • A deposit for your final three lessons is included in your first tuition payment.
    • This deposit will NOT be refunded if you withdraw from private lessons mid-semester.
  • Tuition and fees may be paid as follows:
    • Check or money order payable to Rowan University.
      • Checks can be given directly to your instructor, or mailed to:

      • A penalty fee of $20 will be charged on all returned checks.
    • Credit Cards - MasterCard, Visa, or Discover only.
    • Cash payments cannot be accepted.

Payment Policies

  • Tuition can be paid by one of the following methods:
    • Full Tuition. If semester tuition is paid in full by the first lesson, the registration fee will be waived.
    • Multiple Installments. Tuition may be paid in installments, but five lessons and the registration fee must be fully paid prior to the first lesson.
  • Full tuition for the semester is due no later than December 1st for Fall Semester, May 1st for Spring Semester, and August 1st for Summer Semester.
    • A late fee of $15 will be charged for payments made more than five days past the payment due dates.
  • Rowan Prep may suspend instruction for families who do not meet their payment plan obligations.

Refund Policies

  • All withdrawals must be submitted in writing /email to the Rowan Prep Director.
  • Full lesson tuition will be refunded only if student notifies the Rowan Prep Director before the first lesson takes place.
  • Deposit and registration fee are non-refundable.
  • All withdrawals after the first lesson must be submitted with at least 2 lessons notice.

Absence Policies

Please make sure that cell phone numbers and email addresses are exchanged at your first lesson meeting.

  • If the instructor cancels a lesson, or Rowan is closed due to inclement weather:
    • These lessons will be rescheduled at the convenience of both the instructor and the student.
  • If the student cancels the lesson:
    • Absences are only considered excused if the teacher is notified 24 hours before the lesson.
    • Students are allowed one excused absence per semester.
      • If you cannot reach your teacher, please call the Rowan Prep office - 856.256.4556.
      • The make-up lesson for your one excused absence will be rescheduled at the convenience of the instructor.
      • An excused absence not made up within the following semester will be forfeited.
      • If the make-up lesson is cancelled by the student, the lesson shall be considered made up.
    • Unexcused absences will not be made up.
