The Rowan University

Rowan University Concert Choir prepares singers for professional conducting, teaching, and singing careers. The choir boasts members consisting primarily of vocal performance, education, and bachelor of arts majors, but also includes select non-music majors who possess superior musical skills. Concert Choir rehearses four times per week, Monday through Thursday. The focus of this ensemble centers on artistic music making where vocal technique and sensitivity to rhetoric combine in strong community. The group is very active and passionate as ambassadors for choral music throughout the region and tours internationally every other year.

Statesmen Men's Chorus

The Rowan University Statesmen Men's Chorus is made up of men from across campus and beyond. The choir consists primarily of Rowan University non-music majors, but also includes RU professors, and outstanding area high school students who have passed a successful audition. Statesmen rehearses each Tuesday and Thursday evening from 5-6:15 pm. The ensemble focuses on music fundamentals, music reading, and techniques to improve the singing voice. There is no requirement to join Statesmen aside from a willingness to learn and be a part of a dynamic ensemble.


Women's Choir

The Rowan Women's Chorus is an ensemble focused on treble choir literature, healthy vocal production, music reading, and a cohesive, friendly learning environment. The choir rehearses twice a week (TR 2-3:15) and is a non-auditioned group open to students, faculty and staff. The group performs each season in the beautiful Pfleeger Concert Hall.  There is no requirement to join women’s choir beyond a willingness to learn and be a part of a dynamic ensemble.


Young Men's Festival of Song

Rehearsals, performances, concert in conjunction with Rowan Concert Choir, and time to connect with other young men.

Cost: $12 per student which includes music and lunch. There is no responsibility for teaching music to your students before the event.

The cost is low; the benefit is rich.

All male high school students in grades 8-12 are welcome to participate. Directors may bring full ensembles or a small group of men.
