Internships

Internships are not restricted to juniors and seniors. In fact, students should consider doing an internship as early as possible! Why do an internship? Internships can:

  • Give you an opportunity to apply what you are learning in the classroom
  • Help you narrow your career interests
  • Help you develop connections with professionals who could serve as mentors and references
  • Strengthen your resume with hands-on experience that you can speak to in interviews

The CHSS Center for Professional Success offers many resources to help you find an internship that is best for you. You can also apply for internships through ProfJobs and the Rowan Institute for Public Policy & Citizenship. In addition, internships in specific fields are offered by many CHSS BA programs: Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management, History, Human Services, Law and Justice, Political Science, Sociology, and Spanish. These internships fulfill major requirements.
