We work with students studying in our Sports Communication and Media (Sports CaM) program to enhance their academic growth. We provide access to mentoring, renowned guest speakers, networking events, work opportunities and student clubs.

Meet the Director
Emmy Award-winning sportscaster Neil Hartman was named Director of Rowan University’s Center for Sports Communication & Social Impact in August 2019. His responsibilities include mentoring students, procuring internships, guiding careers and engaging students with sports industry professionals on campus.

B.A. in Sports CaM
The College of Communication & Creative Arts at Rowan is home to several sports-related communication programs including a B.A. in Sports Communication and Media (Sports CaM), Minor in Sports Communcation and Sports Media (21 credits) and Certificate of Undergraduate Study in Sports Media (12 credits).
Pizza with the Pros
Pizza with the Pros is an outstanding networking opportunity for Rowan students. Industry professionals visit campus weekly and discuss their profession and career path. Students engage with the professionals during a question and answer period and one on one interaction.

The Center for Sports Communication & Social Impact welcomes Ruben Amaro, Jr., Mike Quick and Marc Jackson to Rowan University
One of the all-time greats for the Philadelphia Eagles, Mike Quick, veteran baseball front office executive, Ruben Amaro, Jr., and Philadelphia basketball mainstay, Marc Jackson have joined the Edelman College of Communication & Creative Arts as guest lecturers. The trio will offer their insights for two Sports Communication and Media courses: Inside the Front Office and History of Sport in Philadelphia.
Quick was a five-time Pro Bowler during his nine seasons as a wide receiver with the Eagles. He has been the radio color analyst for the the team since 1998. Amaro has more than 40 years of baseball experience from bat boy to major league player to general manager and now an analyst for NBC Sports Philadelphia and MLB Network. Jackson, played basketball professionally for 13 years, seven in the NBA including two seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers. He has been a Sixers analyst for NBC Sports Philadelphia since 2010.
