Bachelor of Science in Accounting

The strength of the Accounting Degree Requirements is in the emphasis on practical and theoretical content to help students prepare for ethical participation in various accounting careers, including careers in professional accounting and financial management. The program also prepares students for graduate studies in accounting, taxation and business.

In the Fall of 2015, the Accounting Degree Review has published its Top 10 Undergraduate Accounting Program rankings for the state of New Jersey. The Accounting Program at Rowan University's Rohrer College of Business has been ranked #3 overall. The purpose of Accounting Degree Review's Top 10 Undergraduate Accounting Program rankings is to highlight the merits of selected institutions and the opportunities afforded to prospective students.

The Accounting Advisory Board provides an external perspective on curricular development and advises on emerging trends in the practice and development of accounting.

Rowan University now offers students a unique chance to double major in Accounting and International Studies (with International Business and Economics Concentration). Click here for more information regarding this opportunity.

Accounting Mentorship provides a mechanism by which students can obtain a better understanding of the challenges and rewards of Accounting from those presently working as accounting professionals.

Undergraduate accounting graduates will have a strong foundation for obtaining professional licensure by the completion of the 120 credit hour program. They have the option of meeting the 150 credit hour educational requirements for licensure as certified public accountants through the Rowan MBA program. The accounting specialization within the Rowan MBA Program is designed to equip students of diverse academic backgrounds with foundational knowledge and advanced topics in accounting.

Certificate Programs

In addition to the Bachelor of Science degree, the Rohrer College of Business offers several certificate programs to accounting students.  Undergraduates may choose to take part in the Certificate of Undergraduate Studies: Forensics and Fraud Investigations.  Graduate students are given the opportunity to complete the Accounting Certificate of Graduate Studies or Accounting Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies.
